About Cantonese School & Community of Greater DC

Cantonese School & Community of Greater DC is a nonprofit Cantonese school serving families across the DMV — Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Founded in 2026 by parents, educators, and community members, we offer weekly in-person Cantonese language classes in Montgomery County, Maryland, for children ages 4–14 at four levels, from Foundation to Advanced. We also offer an adult Cantonese program, and an Art & Culture class. Beyond the classroom, our community celebrates Mid-Autumn Festival, Lunar New Year, Dragon Boat Festival, and more, keeping Cantonese language and heritage alive for the next generation. Our families take an active role in running the school, making us a true community of learners. Whether you're a heritage speaker, part of a multilingual family, or new to Cantonese, everyone is welcome.
